I’ve never been to therapy—what should I expect?

Therapy looks different for everyone. Some clients know exactly what they want to work on; others come with a general feeling that things aren’t quite right. We’ll work at your pace and focus on what matters most to you.

How do I get started?

Contact us to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation. We’ll explore what you’re looking for and determine if we’re the right fit. If so, we’ll get your intake paperwork started and book your first session.

Do you offer in-person or virtual sessions?

Both! In-person sessions are limited, but Telehealth offers flexibility and convenience. We’ll help you decide what’s best for your goals and comfort.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, we accept many major plans. If we’re not in-network, we can provide a superbill for possible reimbursement.

What are your fees? Why are they set at that rate?

Please see the fees page for more details about fee per service. Fees are based off of the clinician’s formal education, independent license, licensing fees, businesses costs, lived experience, and continuing education. Limited sliding scale options are available.

What happens during the first therapy session?

Your first session is an intake appointment where we’ll discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, gather background information, and clarify goals. You’ll have a chance to ask questions, share any concerns, and decide whether our approach feels like a good fit. Think of it as a collaborative roadmap building meeting rather than a typical therapy session—no pressure to dive deep before you’re ready.

How many therapy sessions will I need to see results?

Therapy isn’t one size fits all: some clients meet their goals in 6 8 sessions, while deeper or multiple concerns may take 12 24+ sessions or ongoing check ins. You'll work with your clinician to set clear goals, track progress every few sessions, and adjust the plan so you get the right amount of support—no more, no less.
